Massage provides relief to people of all ages-from infants to seniors-and from all walks of life-the weekend or competitive athlete to the home gardener, or the overstressed, overworked executive.
Massage and bodywork offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Massage has many physiological effects, such as:
• Increased circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
Stimulating the lymph system, the body’s natural defense.
• Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles.
• Reducing spasms and cramping.
• Increased joint flexibility.
• Reducing recovery time for strenuous workouts.
• Releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller.
• Reducing post-surgery adhesions and edema.
• Improving range of motion and decreasing discomfort for patients with low back pain.
• Relieving pain for migraine sufferers and decreasing the need for medication.
Neuromuscular Therapy
This manipulation balances the body’s central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, the goal is to help relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. It is used to locate and release spasms and contraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist blood and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment.
Various Therapies Continued:
Craniosacral Therapy
This manual therapy enhances the body’s natural healing processes and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face, and mouth –which make up the cranium-down to the sacrum and tailbone. Craniosacral therapy encourages the body’s natural healing mechanisms to improve the functioning of health. This is excellent for migraines, sinus headaches, neck, and low back issues.
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation enhances the normal movement of the organs in the abdomen. The organs are dependent on their ability to move freely in the visceral cavity to then work correctly and efficiently. When they are pulled out of their effective positions, they cease to function properly. By freeing each organ to work compatibly with the others, this therapy can potentially alter and improve the structure and functioning of the entire body. This is excellent for IBS, gall bladder dysfunction, acid reflux, and indigestion.
Theracupping
Theracupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping. Cupping is a subtle, yet powerful addition to your massage. Through several thousand years of clinical experience, the therapeutic applications of cupping have been documented. By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping is used to: drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles, and stimulate the peripheral nervous system.
Aromatherapy Cocoon
Theracupping is applied to the entire body to bring blood flow to the surface of the skin. A custom blended aromatherapy is then applied to the skin. You are then wrapped in several layers of warm blankets to aid your body is absorbing the oils. Aromatherapy oils can be blended to help with everything from congestion, to body-contouring.
Ear Candling
Gentle, and effective, this is an ancient technique used to draw excess wax and fungus from the ear. Excellent for vertigo, sinus problems, ear infections, and many other ear related conditions.
